Every Day
When man is bored with play
He turns it into work,
And things he once enjoyed
Tends now to leave and shirk.

To while away the long stretched hours
Machines are made to increase our powers,
And powerfull we grow and grow
With wheels that reap, and wheels that sow,
Gears, and cogs, and levers too,
That pick the peas and shear the ewe.

Computers then take up the strain
To plot the wind and chase the rain,
Now machines have left us bored of brain,
Until we start to learn again.
