Light Of My Life
Darling
Atoms are pretty tiny things,
The smallest part of Earth,
But hidden in this exquisite truth,
Hidden inside each girth,
Smaller parts to stretch the mind
At how this infinite commotion
Contained in this microcosm
Stays whole in fluid motion.

Electrons now are well known
For shocking force of power,
And Neutrons lend their innocence
To mushroom plumes that glower,
Protons appear to bind this mass
With a goodly sense of reason,
Though weighting problems do not resolve
And suggest particles out of season.

Miniscule size and extreme small mass,
A camaflague in this small space,
Until, acceleration applied
Brings unknown forces face to face.

These stallions, racing through their world,
Untamed and yet not wild,
Describe their furious headlong flight
In circles less than mild.
Till finally their Star speed line
Breaks free for all to see,
A brilliant light with calling voice,
A short lived life,
But magnificent and free.
