Light Of My Life
Darling
I woke up bright and clear
This morning
Having learned the art
Of talking to the Birds and Bees,
How to stroke the thorny Rose,
And how to hug the Trees.

I learned how being Human
Is not nearly good enough,
Living this life the selfish way,
Coarse and sandpaper rough.

I watched the Butterfly Flit its erratic mobile way,
The Bumble Bee bumble on,
The long summer day.
I saw the swaying of the grass,
The Ants and Fieldmice roam,
My friends the Worm and charming Snail
Trace their line upon the loam.

I called to Reynaud and to Badger,
Whistled clouds from the sky,
Cooed to Hedgehog, fondled the Fawn,
Hovered yet where Eagles fly.

I spoke to every living Creature,
To each blade of Grass, each shining Flower,
I sang my praise for everything,
To beyond the earth, To Gods shining tower.
