First impressions,
Like a leopards spots,
Are hard to change.
And yet in artists brushstrokes
We see a herd of cow
Where leopard would perceive
Nothing.
Is not what we see
Already implanted in our brain,
Our reaction as automatic
As cats skyward leap
At sudden move of leafy heap?
Did not Daniel and his lion friend
Defy the written end
And change the spots?
Times change my friend,
And in the end
So will you.
These moments when first we meet
Are never complete
Until you drink my wine,
Shake my hand,
Hear my mind.
