Light Of My Life
Darling
I parked Miss Ellie neatly,
Retraced the route to the Maidens,
And on the bowling green road side
Smiled at the smooth giant rocks.

Two bearded wonders had reversed
A battered van towards the hedge,
And looking east, settled comfortably,
Lighting up their Primus for hot baked beans.

I took off my shoes,
The two beards exchanged a glance.
Carefull I trod, gently,
Across this billiard table.

Reading the cable
I looked at this cavern,
At the ants scurrying across the surface,
At the ants that had been here before.

They thought nothing of this
Open Space.
These slabs just part of Mother Earth,
Just naturally natural.

These Fingers of Folded Hands,
A Cave of Comfort,
Cool in the summers heat,
Warm in winter time,
As is my Loves embrace.
