Light Of My Life
Darling
In the beginning,
Before The Beginning,
Before God had been invented,
Before Churches pointed the way,
Before the Pyramids were erected,
Even before Avebury,
The Sun strolled across The Sky.

And strolling just behind came Strolling Man.
For him, as yet, no plan
In this fantastic jungle scene,
But already the Commandments Ten
In this Age of Pleistocene
Implanted in his Grey Computer.

He kept The Sun in sight,
Loved The Mornings clear and bright.
He allowed The Earth to breathe,
Watched The Tiger come and leave.
And then, as if by chance,
He found his way to Fire,
And to knives of Flint.
But always left Time
To see the glint,
Of Solstice Sun.
