Light Of My Life
Darling
I boo'ed the Ugly Sisters ,
Felt sorry for Buttons the Page,
Laughted in all the right places,
And with Uncle got into a rage.
I thought Dicks cat so clever,
And the pumpkin coach a dream,
The juggling act so thrilling,
The high wire stunt a real scream.

Cinders, in rags or crinoline
Was like a sister to see,
But, this night,
Prince Charming smiled
And then looked straight at me.

I lost my heart,
My mouth dropped open wide,
My programme crumpled on the floor,
That night my temperature fried.

I loved this Prince.
Her long legs atop high heel shoes,
Hands on hips, bust thrust forward
Showing moonscape views.

I didn't really understand
Why bright red lips, flashing teeth,
And silky golden hair,
Should make my mouth paper dry,
Make me do and dare.

I didn't really know
If I felt glad or sad,
But being only eleven years old
It made me March Hare mad.
