Light Of My Life
Darling
Sailing my ship in its very own lane,
Across the endless ocean,
Sighting blowing whales migrating,
And wheeling seagulls gaily girating
Causing no consternation.
Great Circle navigation
Plotted on the radar scene
Charted like a lighthouse beam,
I sail my allocated pace
Whilst all around is empty space.

On the motorway I cruise
Apparent straight line, thoughts bemuse,
Along side is rolling open field,
And keeping me a blinkered horse,
Armco the steel fence shield.

Flying the straight line above the clouds,
By George,
White tendrils trail as engines gorge
The giles and zones of time,
Travel from Winter to a warmer clime,
But still each side, above, and below,
The empty space passing slow.

By spacecraft hurtling tortoise rate
Towards the stars and time warp gate,
Black hole, the stepping stone to change,
This missile aligned within the barrel
With death outside the narrow range,
And despite the mass all hereabout,
Beyond the boundary, emptiness, without a doubt.

The tunnel, straight as arrows flight
From Coldrum Stones to quiet Church,
Bullseye lands on wandering Block,
And ends the minds eyes restless search.
Invisible way, open to the sky and land,
Makes use of splendid space beyond
As if this masterpiece was planned.
