Enchantment
Yeah Yeah
It rained the day we left from Lewis
And landed warm at Ullapool,
The water, level as a mill pond,
Though grey and seeming somewhat cool.

Sea birds stretched a floating raft
With edges flying free,
And there a glistening whiskered nose
As soulfull eyes looked straight at me.

We passed a lonely crowd of ships
Dipping in our wake,
With nets hung dry on busy deck
For later seabed rake.

We saw, tied up, a groaning trawler
With load a slipper catch,
And shiny coated fishermen
Death defy the open hatch.

This natural scene, repeated oft
Since before man baked his bread,
Enacted wide on seven seas,
And where Lord Jesus lead.

Enthralling act to strangers now
in this green port of call,
Leaves memory of bobbing boats,
And mighty scenery tall.
