Once Upon A Time
The Whole World came here,
Dressed in Sunday Best
With prams bedecked with flower,
And astonished baby
Anointed,
Shocked scream in full lung power.

In carriages,
With blooms overflowing,
Horses shining white, prancing,
A Rolls Royce or two,
A Daimler, quite a few
Bright coloured cars with ribbons fluttering,
Sprinkled soon with Stars
When joyous bell rings Wedding Bars.

Once Upon A Time
The Whole World came here,
Dressed in black,
Cortege with glass panelled sides,
Wreaths where coffin hides,
Horses with sack cloth on their feet,
Plumes of black upon their heads.
Cars, from the familiar Austin Fleet,
Bedecked with flowers straight from their beds.

Prayers,
Sobs,
And sighs,
Slow walk to Graveside,
How Life flies!

That was Once Upon A Time,
Now,
No one ever dies!
