Today
I did my famous
Rescue act.

I found a Bumble Bee,
Almost lifeless, on the ground.
Not bombing noisily around
From dripping flower, to flower.

The Sky was overcast,
The "Nuclear Power Station" unseen,
But in the distance one Golden Gleam
Growing wider,
Brighter.

Carefully
I lowered my secret lifeline,
And Bee, recognizing my intentions fine,
Climbed aboard this Magic Flight,
Saved at last from extinguishing plight
And together, we flew,
Feathers on the lightest breeze,
Away from Tarmac, towards the Trees.
To where a Flower
Open wide,
Basking in a micro world of Light
Soon replenished this Tiny Mite,
This striped shirt Creature,
This Fine Fellow,
Bumble Bee.
