Thirty Days ...
A second is a tick of time
That helps to build the hour,
Ten thousand ticks is food enough
For big hand to devour.

Twelve long chimes from dawn to dusk
Sees the sunlight shading,
Add twelve more chimes from dusk to dawn,
The moonlight now is fading.

Take these short days and times by seven
A week of life will fade,
Each week by four becomes a month,
The yearly frame is made.

Ninety days of this quick year
Is close to being quarter,
Each part now is named separate,
Each separate part, out Daughter.

The Autumn is her auburn hair,
The Winter depths her guile,
The Spring her willow form and grace,
The Summer golden smile.
