Way Back
When we disobeyed the Rules.
Or too old to be of further use,
We were ejected from the Fold
By mighty Tribal force;
And, once on the Outside,
Nature took its course,
Left the dying dead,
And wrong doers filled with dread.

Later,
When we were Civilised,
We invented ''Penalty of Death"
Executioners with sharp blade, short rope,
A certain end to Breath.

Today
We sneer at all things proper,
For we are Space Age Men.
Computers at our beck and call,
Keyboard stronger than the Pen,
And ''video nastiest", the Real Way of Life.
No Law and Order here,
Do as you wish,
Impose your will.
In this climate of fear.

And Thugs,
Too ashamed to show their face,
Insist on Right to Demonstrate.
This Ugly Force
A Total Disgrace
Where Democracy the apparent call.

Oh!
The Hypocrisy
Of it all!

WELLING.
