Hear This
Finally
A solitary standing stone,
Knee high or tall as shimmering tree,
Awesome in its lowliness
And in its history;
Or as a finger. pointing.
Natural on the ancient heights,
Showing ley to fellow,
The way to prehistoric sights

If just one loving placed stone
Could fill a heart with pride,
A dozen joined in circles
On the landscape wide,
Would form a ring of quartz
For newly married bride.
A golden ring of diamonds,
A flashing, rolling tide.

Whether solo, or in their tens,
Each is a powerhouse of love
Raised by gen tle, thoughtfull, people,
Perhaps expressing adoration
From central core to stars above,
Land joined to sky by crystal steeple.
