Do You...
Darling
When I was a lad
And Tarzan was my hero
My flailing arms and thrashing legs
Showed the crocs the way to go.

The water was my friend,
Returned my caresses with love,
I became a champion of sorts,
But lacked that final shove.

I changed my ways, but never my heart
For this medium so soft yet strong,
I tested its strength in the Skagerrak
And in the Med lazed long,
I tried many a pool in Europe
And crawled a million lengths at home,
Never a thought for a medal,
Ecstatic speed boating, alone.

I praised Marcus in seventy nine,
And marvelled when Tom came ashore,
And surely if our Trainer lived
We would have gained many more.

Remember ever the caring water,
Treat it with great affection,
And when next you take the plunge,
Thank John Bullet for his attention.
