Do You...
Darling
The distant horizon a level curve
Shimmering in its coats of grey.
Warm Summers day.

Whilst nearer,
Fields of yellow and green
Reflect the jetstream roar
As high speed shadow
Flits across the straw.

But here,
The Trees,
Spikey, gnarled,
Stretching, spreading
Chestnut, Oak and Fir,
Tents and flags that sometimes stir,
Where colour glows
And tables in rows
Display their Craft,
The sound of whistle
And sharp command
Point to stuttering, rushing,
Stationary Sheep,
And black white Dog
Who tries their shape to keep.

This mobile, fluid collection,
Hell bent on path to defection,
Marshalled by this wonder Hound,
And greeted with much applause
When safe corralled in picket pound.
