It's.......!
This Stone Age man,
Who never quite made
A home of stone,
Knew how to sniff
The way
From oasis to oasis, alone.

Had even then,
Long before our Rings of Quartz,
His Shining Place.
A beacon in the Wastelands.
His own House of Grace.

He did not waste
The insects, birds and creatures,
Who in their turn
Would obliterate his features
When minute life was done,
As still the Sun
Regenerates.

He found his honey and his milk
Where beetle and snake found theirs,
Where marsupials, and their ilk,
Overcame their fears.

A stick, an axe, a coat of skin
To keep the warmth of Summer in,
His eyes appreciate the scene,
His brain full with Ancient knowledge keen,
And heart aware
That God, at last,
And with great care,
Will hold him close.
