It's.......!
If The Queen lived in Eltham
I would lay down my coat,
And She would float over
As a Swan on the Moat,
For Puddles and Raindrops
Would not harm Her Feet,
Nor The Sun scorch Her Fair Skin,
I would protect Her from heat.

If Our Queen lived in Eltham
I would tend all the Grass
And replace every Pebble
At each Royal pass,
I would straighten the Leaves
Of each Solid Tree,
And then fetch Red Roses for Her to see.

If My Queen lived in Eltham
Then, on Thursday afternoon,
We would stroll King Johns Walk
And marvel at the Daytime Moon,
Maybe go to Mottingham,
Take tea at Bistro 22,
Smile at The Tarn,
Feed the Squirrels,
And the Middle Park Horses too.

And on the Slow Way home
We would talk of The World,
And Life,
If My Queen lived in Eltham.
