How To Lose Weight : Introduction

What do you mean, strong enough?

How to lose weight

What do you mean, strong enough?

How to get strong.

What should I really eat?

How to get weak and fat, and other things.

How to really lose fat.

You don't need to be any stronger than necessary, but what does that mean?

For most people it means just being able to walk to the car, walk to work, walk around the shops pushing a trolley. The body adapts to this and realises you don't need much strength to do these things, so the muscles atrophy.

This is not a problem if you never do anything more strenuous, but eventually even moving the body around becomes an effort, so people sit down in their cars instead of walking. They take the lift instead of walking up stairs. Some even get to the point of having electric chairs to take them around the supermarket to shop.

This still wouldn't be so bad if people ate only as much as this required, but the diet we are led to believe is healthy, leads to gaining body fat and getting heavier and eventually it is too much effort to move.

Surely it's better to be slightly stronger than you need to be to carry out ordinary everyday activities. Some people become so weak and heavy that when they accidently fall over, they can't get up.

My favourite quote about being strong enough is from Mark Rippotoe.
