Getting stronger is a slow process that requires effort and perseverance.
It's similar to getting a suntan because of the slow way in which the body adapts. You start off very gently, and then when you are mostly recovered, you expose yourself to a little bit more. Getting strong is very similar because you start with some weight that is easy, and then each session just add a tiny bit more. The body will adapt and you will get stronger!
