Everyone has heard of autism, but how many know what it really is. Most who have an opinion will have gained it from the media
which takes the most extreme cases and potrays it as average. There is a complete spectrum of autism from that seen on TV, to
forms where almost nobody would ever notice.
There are various different types of autism but they are generally covered on the Autistic Spectrum. It is said that everyone is on the spectrum somewhere, but we only seem to categorise those at the extreme end as being Autistic. There are many people freely working and living in society who are still autistic, but their symptoms are relatively mild and many don't even know that they have Asperger's Syndrome.. |
