February 8Someone not valuing their life! Would you walk along a busy pavement in town, and breath down somebody's neck and put your hand on their shoulder to get them to move over? Of course not, but people do it out driving all the time. We were being followed along Birchover Way by someone about 3 feet from the back right corner. Of course, someone being so close means you have to have a huge safety margin in front, so that you can brake very, very gently when you need to slow down. Now the bus coming the other way, and because of the parked car on our side of the road, meant that we had to slow down very early and gently. No gap, you see! I really thought the driver behind was actually going to touch. Then they suddenly swerved out, as if to overtake us, and nearly took out the bus and us with it. I don't know how they missed everything. Once the bus had gone past we could move out into the gap and they followed. As we moved back to the left, they overtook and sped off. Thank goodness! Now, coming up to the crossroads at Blenheim parade, they were sat in the traffic attempting a right turn into Woodlands road, blocking the oncoming traffic, but leaving just enough room for us to go by on the left. It appears that some people's time is very valuable, but strangely, their lives are not!
